About Us

The Brazilian Society of Osteoporosis SBO (SOBRAO), established on March 17, 1995, nonprofit aims to precípua, according to its statutes
a) bring together doctors from different specialties related to the study of osteoporosis.
b) encourage the study, teaching, research, the means of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of osteoporotic patients.
c) Maintain correspondence and exchanges with the national associations and foreign counterparts.

In October 2003, at the beginning of the management of the Board, was the Bulletin of SOBRAO, completely reformed, with respect exclusive area of science, under the sponsorship of the Laboratory Aventis.

Then the former site of SOBRAO is completely restructured and is focused on scientific online update of doctors from different specialties who work in the field of osteoporosis. Relying on sub-specific sites (which are being created) for each of the existing entities or to be created following the related medical specialties: Rheumatology, Gynecology, Endocrinology, Orthopedics, Gerontology, Physiotherapy, General Medicine, Nephrology and others.

The original purpose of this site is updated online on the internet and then will be extended to distance learning, always in collaboration with the medical authorities in the area.

The SOBRAO should be the scientific forum, executive, advisory, regulatory and social advancement of all specialties, which will dispute its direction with the same rights and duties.
