Dear friends and colleagues
I am pleased to get in touch with you to announce the momentous news that we are the Happy Holders of Administration Office itself.
A yearning for the long-awaited Former presidents come true after 10 years.
I have experience in the kick off to a lasting administrative organization, after which those who preceded us to launch the SLARD a role in the global context. The mammoth task took many hours of work and consultations with the Board of Directors, former Presidents and Member Assembly.
This achievement will allow us to:
• Working organized looking at the long-term progress of each president and his Board of Directors will be contributions that will join an organization very well positioned and growth alone will be added.
• Continuity in the tasks: the SLARD, currently has an organization that can not alter his pace. Magazine, NotiSLARD, Travel-fellows, courses and congresses as the main activity will continue and we are proud to be Latino.
• Increased representation: in the international context, we are taking on personality and are respected as Continental Society organized, being the first to have its own administrative headquarters and the largest with over 2,400 members. Companies will see continuity in their support for this young, consolidating and vibrant society.
• Sustained Growth: every future president and its Board of Directors, maintaining their personalities and local organization no longer have to worry about traveling for the overall organization but will provide the sustained growth of SLARD in the World.
• Investment funds safe: never, even in the darkest moments in our Latin American property was affected, maintaining and even increasing its absolute and relative.
I thank the collective efforts of this Board in raising the funds required for this achievement, mainly conducting massive additions of Members of National Societies, and all those who with their contribution would allow us to success.

EDITORIAL
The opinion of the President

The Latin American Society of Arthroscopy, Knee and Sports emerged from the initiative of a group of leaders in the region 10 years ago. It was integrated into the different areas of the World with affinities in the Specialty and with the axis of the common language that unites us.

Making a brief analysis of the international organizations of our specialty, clearly differ with 3 Levels characteristics, objectives and different and specific functions.

The International: Isak, which encompasses the entire world, which gives prestige to the Specialty, which achieves consensus on the treatments, and in which Congress can view the latest developments shown by the leaders of origin.

The Continental: SLARD, ESSKA, AANA, APOSM, among others, but where is this Latin American Society. They have the characteristics of neighboring regions to gather for their language, roots and geography.

As a society mainland, has been the European leader for its long history and regional development.
SLARD, bringing to Latin America initially and then incorporating Mexico, Spain and Portugal, by their natural affinities. Surge as a need for representation of the Region and its organization and activities are incorporated fully into the international community.

Companies: representing each country, and its members have very specific needs. Each country, according to its own characteristics, is different societies in developing their academic activities and services to its members.

SLARD, as Continental League's main objective is to represent all the National Societies to the International Societies, being the natural link between them.

Includes 26 countries and 78 local organizations in a wide geographic area with a potential human resource and unique worldwide.
Basically, their objectives are:

· Representing the National Societies to the International Societies.

· Promoting Education and Development of Science.

· To support those organizations and members of the Region in Focus.

· Organize regional scientific events.

SLARD unites us in our roots from the native communities of each region, with logic variants, sharing land cultivation, trade and cultures. With the European colonization these common points were increased, sharing in history, the language and customs Latino blood.

From this mix comes the ongoing development of the region, with individual characteristics but a strong background in common. We must seize that we share many things and minimize the differences that only hinder development.

Thus today we have a young society, that a nuclear Specialty vanguard, with a great resource and regional human and with great potential that we must defend and exploit.

The work plan for the period in which we are broad and ambitious, and we hope to accomplish integration and cooperation of everyone, including colleagues from the big cities such as the remote regions, the experience of colleagues and younger with new impetus for the job.

Feel pride in our region, our roots, the potential of human resources and unique and we develop it together.
