Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we would like to invite you to the 5th Triennial Congress of the International Federation of Paediatric Orthopaedic Societies 2010 (IFPOS), which will take place from 8 through 11 September 2010 in Seoul, Korea.

Since the inaugural meeting in Madrid, Spain in 1998, IFPOS has held triennial congresses successfully in Sendai, Japan (2001), in Salvadore, Brazil (2004) and in Sorrento, Italy (2007). Seoul is now going to join these prestigious cities by hosting the 5th Congress.

Evidently, the aims of the forthcoming congress are two-fold. One is to exchange the latest information, ideas, and experience in our expertise fields. The other is to enhance the relationship among member societies, which is the key to international cooperation for orthopaedic care of children around the world. The third aim, if you allow us to add one more, is to commemorate centennial anniversary of Legg-Calve-Perthes disease by holding a pre-congress symposium entilted, "Past, Present and the Future of LCPD”. Many of the world-renowned speakers will be participating in the special one-day program which is the one and only international event to celebrate the occasion.

Seoul is surely one of the most attractive major cities in the world with 600 years of history as well as all the modern features you can imagine. We can assure that you will be impressed not only with the "land of the morning calm" vestige of the past, but also with the most bustling life of a metropolis today. Abundant social events will be available for you and your accompanying to enjoy the dynamics of Seoul.
