About Us

The German Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society was founded in 1993 by a workgroup of the German Society for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery (DGOOC). Today more than 750 orthopaedic and trauma surgeons are members in the German Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society which is thus the largest section of the German Society for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery.

The German Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society deals with diagnosis and therapy of inborn and acquired illnesses of the foot and ankle joint as well as with injuries and their consequences. It is the aim of the society to exchange experiences, train the new generation of surgeons, organise meetings and conventions, and publish scientific work in our journal "Fuß und Sprunggelenk".

The certificate "Fußchirurgie" (Foot Surgery) offers interested persons the possibility to deepen their knowledge in the field of conservative and surgical treatment of the foot. You can find further information by clicking on the button "Zertifikat" (certificate).
