Dear colleagues and fellow members of ESTES
As the newly elected President of the European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ESTES), I should like to express my sincere thanks to all of you for your trust.
ESTES was formed by the merger of two respected and established international societies. More than fifty countries throughout the world are represented in its individual membership, and its corporate members include distinguished national professional associations such as the Austrian Trauma Society, Belgian Trauma Society, Croatian Trauma Society, Croatia Pannonian Urgent Medicine Association, Czech Trauma Society, Dutch Trauma Society, French Emergency Surgery Society, German Trauma Society, Hungarian Trauma Society, Italian Trauma and Emergency Surgery Society, Romanian Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery, Serbian Trauma Society, Slovakian Trauma Society, Slovenian Trauma Society, Swiss Society of General and Trauma Surgery (SGAUC), and Swiss Trauma Society (SGTV).
Although we call ourselves a European society, we have many members from other continents. As President of our Society, I am pleased that you see have confidence in our ability to represent your interests; this probably reflects the high aims that ESTES seeks to reach.
