For many years, the Danish Sport Medical Association side was a desire to establish a formalized sport medical training. For Specialist Commission's proposals for future specialty structure, it has become clear that at this stage it is unrealistic to imagine sports medicine will be recognized as an independent specializing in Denmark.
The Board has therefore found it appropriate to draw up plans for a diploma recognition. That is the meaning of diploma education to establish a proper basic education and allow for voluntary registration of training (CME). Such voluntary registration could be used for recruitment into the sports medical relevant posts. It is also hoped by this action that could motivate the training. It is the Board's position that the registration should be voluntary and not as a measure to force training.
Organization:
Gimmick's board establish a diploma program committee consisting of 3 members from the Board and 1 of the Education Committee who also serve as chairman of the committee.
Committee approves all applications for Graduate classification based on submitted documents (copy of course evidence mm.). As a starting point accepted only points received by CME courses have been approved and pointsat in Education gimmick, but in applications where alternative courses included assessment of the Graduate Committee.
