The BOA is the professional association for trauma and orthopaedic surgeons in the United Kingdom and those abroad who have had orthopaedic training in the UK or who show a continuing interest in the affairs of the Association.

The Objects of the BOA
These are the advancement for the public benefit of the Science, Art and Practice of Orthopaedic Surgery with the aim of bringing relief to patients of all ages suffering from the effects of injury or disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Please see our Strategy Statement document below.

I am delighted to welcome you to the British Orthopaedic Association's website. We have just had a very successful annual Congress in Liverpool and are already making preparations for the 2009 Congress in Manchester, as you will see elsewhere on our website.

This BOA website is currently undergoing a "new look" with increased functionality. We retain our British red, white and blue colour scheme but the navigation aids have been redesigned and relocated to help you find your way around the considerable content on this site.

In the coming months, I shall be issuing regular President's Newsletters via email with an indexed webpage resident on our website so that you may find topical content easily. Other publications such as Joint Action bulletins and our British Orthopaedic News sections will also soon feature here.

Another new item is the consultant searchable database which you can access from the Home Page. The public may search for Home Fellows holding substantive consultant posts anywhere in the British Isles whether by name, specialty or area.
