Die ÖGEKM veranstaltet wissenschaftliche Kongresse und Vorträge . In begründeten Fällen kann Mitgliedern auf Antrag auch ein Reisekostenzuschuss zum Besuch von internationalen Fachtagungen gewährt werden. The ÖGEKM organizes scientific conferences and lectures. In justified cases, members at the request of a travel grant to attend international conferences are granted.

Das offizielle Organ der ÖGEKM ist das Journal für Mineralstoffwechsel , das vierteljährlich erscheint. Die Zeitschrift bringt wissenschaftliche Originalarbeiten und Übersichtsartikel, die auch als online Version jederzeit verfügbar sind, sowie in einer Rubrik Nachrichten der ÖGEKM. The official organ of the ÖGEKM is the journal of mineral metabolism, which is published quarterly. Die ÖGEKM ist ferner aktives Mitglied der International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) und wird dort durch den Präsidenten vertreten.
