Charter of the ASAMI International and External
Fixation
1) Hereby is constituted the International ASAMI
(Association for the Study and Application of the Method
of Ilizarov). The purpose of the International ASAMI
(I.A.) is to facilitate and promote world wide communication
among all the national ASAMI organizations.
2) The International ASAMI is made up of all
the members of the various ASAMI organizations. The
International ASAMI Executive Committee (IAEC) is made
up of all the presidents of the different national ASAMI
organizations. The Board of Director of IAEC will consit
of 5 members:
Two members will be elected from Europe by the European
ASAMI Presidents. One member will be elected from the
Americas by the Presidents of the north and south America
ASAMIs.
One member will be elected from Asia by the Asian ASAMI
Presidents. One member will be chosen by the director
of the Kurgan scientific institute of restorative orthopaedics
and traumatology. The honorary member of Kurgan has
no right to vote in the election of IAEC.
3) The executive committee members will be elected
at the general meeting of the National ASAMI Presidents,
with a majority vote of those attending the Presidents
Meeting. 4) The IAEC members will elect the President
and 2 vice-Presidents of the IAEC.
The President's and the vice-President's mandate will
last a period of three years and can be renewed.
5) The President of IAEC is, at the same time.
President of International ASAMI.
6) The IAEC will meet at least once every three
years. In addition, either the President or three members
of the IAEC may request a meeting at any time.
7) The President is responsible for the actions
of IAEC including the assembly and agenda of the executive
committee meetings. The IAEC President must be notified
to the Committee and to the National ASAMI Presidents
the agenda no later than 3 months before the meeting
date. In case of unavailability of the President, his
functions are entrusted to the first Vice-President
or second vice-President, in case of unavailability
of the first Vice- President.
8) The President will nominate a Secretary who
takes part in the IAEC Meeting without the right to
vote. The Secretary mandate's will last for a period
of 3 years and can be renewed.
9) In case of unavailability a member can delegate
their responsibility to a member person of his national
ASAMI. Every member can be accompanied to IAEC Meeting
by a person of their choice, who, however will have
no right to vote.
10) Expenses incurred by members for attendance
to IAEC Meetings will be each individual member's responsibility;
accordingly, all expenses incurred by the President
and by the Secretary of the IAEC because of their official
activity will be met by themselves; however the IAEC
will encourage each national ASAMI to support the President,
the Vice- Presidents and the members to attend the IAEC
Meeting.
11) Every National ASAMI preserves its own independence
with regard to internal organization as well as to scientific
activity.
12) Every member of any ASAMI (or Ilizarov User
Group) is automatically a member of International ASAMI.
13) To change the charter, a majority of votes
of the National ASAMI Presidents is required. The votes
can be communicated by mail, fax or E-Mail.
14) IAEC is a non profitable Organization.
